We get mail!
Thank you to all the TBVSCC members who greeted us so warmly. It is always fun to drive to Thunder Bay and enjoy the Fall Colour Tour festivities. The weather was excellent with no rain, thank you, very much. The colors were vivid on our drive to Canada and even more so on our way back to Elk River.
I also must mention that our sister-in-law, Ruth Ann, was also greeted very nicely and she had a fun time. Unfortunately, she wasn’t with us very long as we came home on Monday and took her to the airport Tuesday morning. Her son-in-law, our nephew-in-law, picked her up from LOVE field in Dallas and she arrived home safely.
We love our gift as “International Visitors,” but have not had time to make use of the Tim Horton’s coffee, and the maple syrup, and the Hoito pancake mix. You are all amazing, and we love to come to Thunder Bay and just take in the sights and greet our Canadian friends.
We will not make it to the monthly meetings or the Christmas party, but we keep the date for that in our calendars. Who knows, maybe someday? Everyone, please stay safe wherever you drive, and especially in the “little cars.”
Fondly, Larry, Jean, and Ruth Ann Cook

Fall Colours tour
Neither cloud cover nor cool temperatures could keep 32 TBVSC Club members and guests from good food and nature's seasonal colour changes. The group met at the Neebing Hotel and traveled Hiway 61 South to the Gunflint Trail. From here it was 25 miles to the Poplar Haus for lunch and a skill-testing quiz for car-knowledge bragging rights. Thanks to Ken & Laurel Hall for organizing today's event.

August 22nd Ice cream drive & Visit to roseview Seniors home
Todd reports 13 cars on the drive and 12 visited Southbridge Roseview Seniors Home.
The Hermanator brought ice cream treats for everyone.
Kim also provided cookies and water. We had a good group of seniors come out and view the cars.
This was the first of hopefully many seniors home visits.

Greg's Hard Luck Story: Roseview part II
Penny and I set off for the club drive and show at the Roseview facility tonight from our place on Tuxedo Drive in the area of the Neebing hotel. We made it as far as the railway underpass just past Broadway Ave when our GT6 began bucking and stalling. I turned around and made it to within a few blocks of home before it quit for good. We walked home and I went back with my truck and trailer, winched it on and dragged it home. Looks like the fuel pump either failed or is sucking air in somewhere. Rats!
Never a dull moment driving a nearly 60 year old English car. Anyway sorry we missed it. Our brother-in-law lives at Roseview and we were looking forward to showing off our club’s cars to him.
Hope you had a good turnout and thanks to Todd for organizing it.

2024 tbvscc Annual Club tournament
On August 18, 2024 our annual golf tournament was held at St. Urho’s Country Club in Nolalu. The weather was perfect. We had 21 golfers and a very competitive group. Ron Praymak and Glenn Burton organized the event and we met later at the Neebing Hotel for food and the presentation of the coveted trophy. Another approximately 10 members added to the group for dinner.
This year Jerry Baccari and Doris donated two tickets to a dinner theatre and nice bottle of spirits. Clora Gilbert made the draw and it was won by Diane a guest of the Baccari group. Darlene Pyne made the presentation of the trophy to Glenn and Susan Burton and their two grand children Grace and Cameron as this years winners.
A good time was had by all with the exception of a shortage of golf carts at the club (and wondering where the heck the 2nd hole's green is, no doubt --ed). Ron’s cart broke down on the second hole (probably while trying to get to that elusive 2nd hole green --ed) and Glenn and Susan’s cart was a bit different but the grand kids thought it was awesome.
Thanks to all that participated. Another great opportunity for members to enjoy each other’s company.

Garage tour 2024
TBVSCC Members – as a number of you know we had our annual Garage Tour today. As usual, there was ample opportunity to soak up some car project inspiration. Personally, I’m going to get the Volvo sorted this week!! Well, at least I’ll make significant progress.
Many thanks to our hosts on today’s tour – Jon Block in our Lotus Shop, Roger Curtis and his racing Porsche mods, Eric and Noah Lehto’s Jeep/Volkswagen/Porsche stable, and John Colossimo’s numerous talented victories over iron oxide. The hospitality of all of you is much appreciated.

TBVSCC Bursary to Harmony Fiddler from Dennis Franklin Cromarty High School May 18, 2023
Harmony Fiddler
When Harmony first started in my classes, I knew she was going places and doing great things. She would never shy away from any challenge or obstacle that she encountered, she is curious and she absorbs knowledge and experience with every project. She was in both automotive or manufacturing classes. I look forward to seeing her move on to college and industry where she will put those skills to work. Whatever the college or the industry she chooses, they'll be lucky to have her!

TBVSCC Snowshoe Adventure February 15, 2020
Hosted and organized by Glen and Donna.
This is almost all of us, viewing from left to right - Susan , Clora , Susan & Glenn, Ken, Patricia, Doris, Donna & Glen, Tony - Tony stepped out and John stepped in for the second shot. Geoff and Helen went back to snowshoe on the flat around the house - Joanne and Riley (Norris and Kyra couldn’t come) had to leave early. Following this photo we went onward for another hour or so covering 2.7 miles through the bush. We had some fresh snow and about -4C temperatures - perfect for this adventure. We went back to the house and had a feast of hot apple cider, salads and pulled pork and some wonderful desserts. Following the meal the men snuck off to “the hanger” to check out the progress I have made on the Triumph TR4 body work.

NAMGB 2019 Traverse City, Michigan
Jody and I attended this all MGB show on June 24 - 26, 2019. There were 308 MGB's from all over the U.S. and Canada. The tech sessions were very good and the best was John Twist's rolling session. There was quite a large entry of modified MGB's with V8's either a Ford or Rover engine. My favourite however was the V6 Chev conversion which did not require any cutting and really sat in the engine bay nicely.

Tech session January 27, 2018
Glenn and John organized this tech session at Glenn's garage. Glen recently purchased this Volvo station wagon as a project. The car would not start and after diagnosis it was determined the carbs were at fault. The car uses SU carbs which a lot of us have in our British cars, and the carbs were in need of a re-build, so a tech session was arranged.
It was a good turnout and after rebuilding the carbs and installing them on the car, it started and ran well. Well done Glenn and John. Apparently another tech session is in the works on body work for this car.

Great turnout for this run, I counted 21 cars and six motorcycles. We met up at Tim Horton's on Oliver Rd. around Dog and Suprise Lakes, and ended up at the MacKenzie Tavern for a meal. Everyone had positive comments about the 100 km run, taking us to places around Thunder Bay that some had never seen or been for a while. Thanks Doug and Chris for organizing this event.

The Scavenger Hunt (a real one) was hosted by Ken and Clora. A lot of thought and effort went into this great day, not to mention the wonderful bags and other prizes hand made by Clora. The weather was great maybe a little too hot at least for me, had the top up and air on. Ken and Clora provided the beef on a bun, and refreshments, thanks to everyone else that brought something else to contribute. An excellent turnout.

The first event of the year and it was off to a good start. We all met at the Metropolitan Moose in Kakebeka Falls where everyone had a coffee while Glen instructed on the route and gave us the questions. The tour concluded at A.J.'s Trading Post and Restaurant with hot chili in a pastry shell served with buns and pie for dessert. Congratulations to Tony and Patricia for the getting the most questions right, best time and mileage, and the honour of organizing next year's run. Everyone missed the moose crossing sign even though Glen said it was the biggest he had ever seen!!

We met at Tim Hortons on Arthur and set out a few minutes apart to find the answers to a quiz. The last stop on the tour was The Eddy restaurant in Kakebeka Falls where a great meal of salad, chilli, buns and dessert was enjoyed by all. The winners were John and Doris who will no doubt offer a tricky route next year.

chilLi buns tour to Silver Mountain March 8, 2015
This year's Chilli Buns Tour was organized by Doug and Harriet McMillan. The weather was great and at day's end it was over the freezing mark. A little snow that fell overnight made it a challenge in some places without four wheel drive. We left Thunder Bay and headed south on Highway 61 to Sturgeon Bay, Mink Mountain, Cloud Lake, Highway 593 to our destination at Silver Mountain Station. Doug and Harriet made it interesting with a quiz, and the winners were driver Glenn Burton and navigator Wes Luloff. Silver Mountain Station actually served chilli and buns for a light meal followed by a delicious dessert. It was a great way to spend the day and was well attended. Big thanks to Doug and Harriet.
children's centre thunder bay christmas family sponsor
At our November 20, 2014 Club meeting it was unanimously agreed upon to sponsor a family for Christmas through the Childrens' Centre Thunder Bay. An anonymous family of five, Mom and Dad, 11 yr. old girl, 4 year old girl and 3 year old boy submitted a wish list. Through generous donations of cash and gifts from the membership as well as a $300 donation from the Club coffers, we were able to make this family happy for Christmas. Once all the gifts were purchased a gift wrapping social was hosted by Wes and Jody on December 10, 2014. The gifts were delivered to the Childrens' Centre by club members on December 19, 2014. The Childrens' Centre responded with this message:We want to extend a huge thank you to you and all the members of the Thunder Bay Vintage Sports Car Club who so generously donated their time and money to the gifts and grocery gift cards. The family is truly appreciative of your sponsorship and your generous contributions will make for a wonderful and memorable Christmas for them—especially the children as we believe Children come First.
Please extend our heartfelt thanks to each member of your Club.
The family also sent a thank you note to the Club and it has been scanned and is the last slide.
